Romans 9:17-18: “For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.

If one wants to sell more hair tonic, toys, or chocolate chip cookies, just put a red triangle in the corner of the box with the word “NEW!”

Gosh - first the Pope opts to community organize instead of preaching Jesus and now he thinks he can do a better job devising a prayer than Jesus did....it's called the Lord's Prayer because it was given us by the Lord....as an example of how we should pray...Star by praising God, welcome what He has in store for us, acknowledge that He provides us with what we need, admit we commit trespasses and need His forgiveness and that we need to realize that we're no better than those who trespass against us so we need to forgive if we are asking for forgiveness, ask Him to help us not be tempted by Satan's wiles and to protect us from Satan (I usually pray the version which says "deliver us from the Evil One" vs. "from evil" to set solidly that Satan is real) and then end with praising God again.
Perfect prayer that tells us to rely on and love God and only covers a small area that encompasses all about us (depend on God, admit you need His forgiveness, forgive your neighbor as you want to be forgiven - really similar to the great commandment and it's brother....Love God with every fiber of your being and love your neighbor as yourself - for where there is love, there is no harm and that in and of itself satisfies the intent of the Law.....)
....and the Pope wants to "improve" on it?
