My favorite passage in all of Scripture
No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner than they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
Proof that rulers and political leadership are established by God, and are raised up and cast down according to His will.
Pray for God-Fearing rulers for America !
In these scriptures, we see that the Lord God showed Isaiah that the earth is a sphere, and that His Throne is above us in the heavens--
In the Jewish cycle of Torah reading, Isaiah chapter 40:1-26 "just so happened" to be the [Chabad] weekly reading from the prophets, beginning on the day that the Eagle landed on the moon (week of July 20-26, 1969).
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
The first words spoken from a man on the moon relayed a very important announcement. It was the first time a human had stepped foot on another heavenly body. The entire earth was "looking up." So who's script was that, anyway. Certainly not NASA's.
I call the book of Isaiah the mini Bible of the Bible. If we understand Isaiah, especially the second half of the book, we are told everything about God and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen
