"If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:26,27
I realize that it is popular among Christians to refer to Christianity as a relationship rather than a region, but that description is trite, and was first extensively promulgated back in the "Jesus Movement" days of the 1970s.
Christianty has the trappings of religion, and a heirarchical structure, as defined by no less than the Apostle Paul.
Religion was “religious’...is something in addition to and totally separate from the salvation RELATIONSHIP that we have with Jesus.
....Paul was referencing it thus...
‘Trite”...really?
