I’m suggesting that the Bible preaches we are not to eat a meal with people who call themselves Christians but are conducting a sinful life...

While on the other hand, Jesus Himself ate meals with sinners.

He did not “remove Himself from the world”... in false asceticism.

Neither are we to be prissy stick-in-the-muds, who do not know how to mingle with people and indeed, love all people from all walks of life, demonstrating His love.

What I’m suggesting is we are to be “all things to all people” and love them “with a flavor of wit”...

And I do seriously wonder about all of these jerky lawsuits that make Christians look like idiot prissies who hate people who do not know Christ.

“I’m suggesting that the Bible preaches...”

Well, I’m not sure that collection of quotes and concepts makes your point any clearer to me, but it seems like an honest effort on your part to be what you consider a good Christian. So I don’t want to be too critical.

I trust you are wise enough not to misinterpret your references. In particular your quote from Paul to the Corinthians about him being ‘all things to all men’.

That is not, AT ALL, a suggestion for us to be tolerant of deviant sexual or other sinful behavior. His point, for the most part, is that he preached to both old-school Jews who still erroneously believed they had to pay for sin via animal sacrifice, get circumcised and such. And also to the new Christians who correctly understood otherwise. And also preached to gentiles, whom he naturally was trying to convert to be Christians.

He wasn’t simply hanging out with any of those groups just to be friendly and tolerant. He was trying to get them to believe that Christ could and would forgive their sins - IF they repent and strive to sin no more.

At a minimum I hope you don’t believe the ‘all things’ quote to mean Paul tolerated things like gay sex or behaved sinfully himself in order to fit in with ‘all people’. That should be abundantly clear if you read to the end of the chapter.

Regarding ‘jerky lawsuits’ you seem to think make us Christians look like ‘idiot prissies’... I assume you understand that the article in question is, to the contrary, actually about an idiot sissy filing a jerky complaint to force good Christian folk to violate their faith. What the sissy demanded of them was far worse than simply wishing a sinner ‘God speed’, which itself is forbidden by Christ.
