In lieu of the homily, the parish priest should play a video of the entire interview of the Cardinal and let the congregation make up their own minds.
St. Robert Bellarmine, you are wanted on the courtesy phone.
Yes. This is his 4th intervention to “correct” the original! That’s some ego.
Cupich is a crazy old queer. His priests will ignore him. He cant order them not to tell the truth. The statement by Cupich speaks for itself. He said the environment and immigration are more important that priest sexually molesting others, mostly young males.
What a pig!
After listening to the original soundbite clip, I wondered just how the Cardinal Cupich could be so clueless. However, having just listened to the full four-minute clip, I think that the soundbite clip makes the cardinal’s response seem worse than it really was in full context. In full context, the cardinal comes across as a run-of-the-mill progressive social justice Catholic who does not believe the Vigano allegations, not a lavender bishop predisposed to cover up unspeakably horrific sexual misconduct.
During the full four-minute clip, he does call for an independent investigation. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/cardinal-cupich-interview-questions-cardinal-mccarrick-allegations-491926591.html It’s worth listening to all of the raw interview clips at this site.
I’m not RC and I don’t keep up with church politics. So, I have never heard of Cupich before. This assessment is based only on the tv interview and the recognition that it is not entirely unreasonable at this point to be skeptical of Vigano’s allegations.
