NM, I pray you are correct that high-level secular authorities will give this a passing glance and a shrug, but it rather appears there are some scattered in the country who are vitriolic Church -haters. They are all also running for office, to a man. This is a “massive, massive” opportunity to smash the Church.
Sadly (maybe tragically) hundreds of thousands of misinformed Catholics are stupidly facilitating this destruction by asking their DA’s, etc, to open investigations! They are turning to corrupt secular sources to oppose their own fellow Catholics.
They’re playing politics and they do not understand the rules of the game or that odds are against them. Great sin to deliberately overstep their rightful place. Concerned about abuse or corruption? HELP A CHILD, help your priest, sweep the church steps, volunteer at a school. Otherwise in their arrogance and sinful outrage they WILL destroy church in USA.
