Here is what I do not understand. Why did Ratzinger leave? Was he forced out? If so, why? What is the general take of the traditional Catholics about him?
Would the church want him back? WOuld it even be possible?
A traditional priest told us once no way that Ratzinger could be elected. He was the closest thing we had to an ally in the Vatican. Then he got elected, and it was a victory as sweet as Trump’s that day, believe me.
I am still upset he resigned. Why did he do it? Because he saw how filthy the people were around him and he thought he was too old and weak to do anything about it.
But he did some lasting good: freed the traditional Mass, and created the Ordinariates.
I've never read thriller/intrigue/spy/crime/suspense stuff, so I would be the last person in the world to be able to connect the dots.
The upshot seems to be that Benedict is a good man, a clean man, a man of intellect and faith, surrounded by wolves.
But still, why did he resign? Why not shout the truth and die on his feet? And why is he silent even now?
I have my theory. But I gotta stop here before I get into the tinfoil triple tiara stuff.
Seriously, pray. Divine intervention is desperately needed here, and Vigano is ripping off the lid.
***What is the general take of the traditional Catholics about him?***
I’ll speak for myself, and only myself. I view Pope Benedict as the true Pope, the last one before the False Pope that was prophesied over a hundred years ago.
