The Wikileaks emails by her campaign manager derided both Catholics and Evangelicals, i.e., Catholics are bad, but at least they’re not as bad as Evangelicals.

Immoral people have done, and do, moral things. And moral people do immoral things.
An interesting quote I’ve thought about for years is: “The last temptation is the greatest treason: to do the right deed for the wrong reason.” (T. S. Eliot) I’m not sure what it means — the “last temptation” part, but it’s something to think about about.

Its even more subtle, like deciding not to have the abortion because they “believe” that it’s wrong, based on current conditions.

As long as the President adheres strictly to the Constitution as written, and appoints judges that do the same, we can feel confident that everything will work out. Once the left begins taking away our freedoms, we’re in trouble. “People of faith” understand that.
I think he meant “the last temptation” in his individual life.
Personally, I think that it’s right to do the right thing, regardless of your motivation. Maybe the “right thing” isn’t obvious, though.
Becket’s case is ambiguous. He had many choices along the way to his death that would have presented a different set of possible outcomes. His trajectory was guided by his “reasons,” right or wrong, long before the final point.

I’d prefer that the Washington Post NOT get it regarding Evangelicals, as once they get it, they can start to work on breaking that bond with Trump. But too late now. It took nearly 2 years, but they finally sent someone to one of those DESPISED states (Alabama, in this case) to find out, once and for all, what the deal is.
Although what the people were saying was accurate, it is much more than having a president who hates you, it is having a president who wants to RULE OVER YOU, and force you to change to what she demands you be. That’s why they cannot simply retreat to their pews and ignore the outside world. Hillary will COME FOR THEM - in the case of these people, they will take control of the churches in many ways and make them vassals of the state. You Evangelicals WILL NOT be left alone, no f’ing way.
In Houston, our former lesbian mayor, Parker, actually SUBPOENAED the sermons of local churches to make sure they weren’t preaching ‘hate’. She was a step ahead of the rest of the left, but that is EXACTLY where they would have gone under Hillary.

As to the First Amendment, please SPARE ME. It would have been HILLARY’S SUPREME COURT in judgement of whether that was violated.

I don’t think that’s true in every case. Biblically David and Paul did some severely immoral things, but they eventually repented -— after they were pushed hard!!-— and God found each of them, under the circumstances, the right man for the job.
I've always thought the same thing. It wasn't the emails. She lost because this one remark that "let the cat out of the bag" regarding her character and her contempt for middle America. The day after the election a German friend of mine and called to ask how Trump won. I told him about her "basket of deplorables" speech and said that, although there were many reasons, it was that remark that put Trump over the top.
Sounds like Brutha Crum might believe he has achieved sinless perfection. I’ve been saved since Aug. 18, 1962 and I haven’t reached it. I have a Savior. And so does The Donald. He got saved at Billy Graham’s 95th birtday party. Praise Jesus. He’s a baby Christian. Cut him a little slack.

It is possible to have a person who does not adhere to your notions of proper sexual morality, but who still is a good person to have on your side of the fight.
That sounds like a book that I’d find fascinating. I’ll pick up a copy.
I can’t say I’ve seen anything in his life since the time he started campaigning that I have a problem with.
And for those who have issues with his life from 40 years ago, how many of us could stand up under that kind of scrutiny?
