(Hard hitting progressive rock, not suitable for all tastes.)
metmom, ah, you know how it is growing up in a legalistic, ritualistic religion.
You can leave, but it takes time and perhaps entry into eternity to cleanse the soul.
I recently read a Luther bio that was fantastic. Never read one before.
Excellent!!

It made me realize that most criticize him on these FR threads know only what they read online.
It surprised me to realize I had offended so many Protestants. What was even more surprising was to see people defend the indefensible. No way in hell Luther can be justified at so many levels; he's simply wrong, Wrong, WRONG!
No! He's not simply engaging in "strong hyperbole."
As the Lord said: "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh."
This anti-Semite antinomian did not preach the Gospel of Christ or the Apostles. He merely carried on the Gnostic torch in a new guise. In rejecting God's Law, he rejected God. Everything else is window dressing.
So you refuse to read any evidence that might suggest that the target of your ire may not be as bad as you think.
Thank you for providing an excellent example of bigotry.
Sad!
What can I tell you; choosing between James, the Lord's brother and Martin Luther, rebel Catholic priest, I choose James.
Have a nice life!
I gave you the evidence already. Both the article excerpt and the link to the whole article. And direct quotes from the man himself.
You refused to read it and instead insisted on screaming ignorant hate all over the thread.
You’re only making yourself look stupid.
Sad!
Oh, and nice job trying to change the subject. Too bad you revealed that you STILL didn’t read what Luther actually wrote about James and just papist propaganda instead.
This is why people call you hateful.
Anyway, who calls ME hateful?
BTW, "Papist propaganda"? Who's the bigot now? What are you, in the 17th century? Dude, I'm not even Catholic!
You’re the one who refused to read the article. You’re the one who refused to even consider that just maybe there’s something good within the man.
Even after you have a link to the entire article at the very top of the thread, which contains several pages of examples from Luther’s own writings proving you wrong.
That’s an example of bigotry if ever I heard one.
And finally, you’re the one who’s screaming like a stuck pig now that I’ve called you out on it.
You wanna try to prove to me that you DID read the article AND the quotes contained therein? Go for it.
Nice try getting me to do your work. You defend Luther if that’s your bent. The man’s work speaks for itself. Cheap grace is a nice deal if you can swing it but that has nothing to do with the Gospel.
I already did my work; everything you need is linked right here at the top of this thread. A good chunk is even written without the link at the top of the thread. It’s all settled in pieces with a logical progression.
You can even jump right to Luther’s words because they’re colored in blue in the link I posted at the very top of the thread.
You’re the one who’s angrily refusing to read it even when it’s been served right up on a silver platter for you.
Instead you continue to scream about how much you hate Luther, and that’s after refusing to even read quotes from him that will show that perhaps what you’ve heard is wrong. And that you agree with him more than you might think.
That’s bigotry and hate that’s showing right there.
Prove me wrong.
Gladly.
You can't read my mind.
Game. Set. Match
Very true; I accept your surrender.
Try again later; maybe you won’t make as much of a fool of yourself.
But I recommend actually reading the article next time.
You should also try reading Scripture instead of your dogma.
So the abundance-of-heart evidence that he did formally teach keeping the moral law of God cannot be allowed, since it is contrary to your conclusion? That's objective.
The irony of that statement is hilarious.
The fact that you think that pathetic statement is clever is even more hilarious. And if you’d read the article, you’d know that.
You can have the last word if you want.
See you on the next thread that you won’t read.
LOL.
I think I should save that.
Will do great on the next thread in which the Romanists get triggered by the truth.
Honestly, it’s really funny how so many of them are clinging so hard to their hatred that they won’t even consider that just maybe the target of their hate ISN’T the monster that they were taught he is.
Sad!
Who said Luircin was sad?
HE didn’t in his post.
Where did you get that from?
