I don’t know about you bro, but when the men of Nineveh, and the Queen of Sheba, rise in judgment over this generation, I am going to reserve a seat next to the Queen, so, when she rises in judgment, I will rise along side of her. It will be good to miss the fierceness of the wine press of the wrath of God. 😁😆

Yes, I think you do care, actually. I think you care a great deal.

Wrong again.

And the funny thing is that you spent more energy trying to find a way around looking up Lutheran theology than it would have taken to actually look up the Book of Concord online.

I have no doubt you believe this.

I’m sorry for your feelings

Good for you. This whole this has been quite humorous to me. And it is especially funny you think I'd be interested in taking Lutheran theology seriously. Look at what the Smalcald Articles say about The Mass. The whole thing is so comical to me.

The Book of Concord is like the fight song of a college football team with the lyrics focused mostly on their primary rival instead of themselves.

Amen, but let God be the judge, the Queen rising is in agreement with the judgment but she will not be judging, the Most High God Who offered His Grace will be the Judge. To reject so great a Gift as His unmerited favor, His Grace, from the Most Loving God, is, well, unforgivable.

Yes, and rather foolish, and EXTREMELY painful. Never underestimate the ability of a holy, righteous, infinite, omnipotent God, to inflict severe amounts of pain on His enemies, both angelic and human. I suspect the screaming will be deafening, but they deserve it. They rejected grace while it was offered, a very foolish move.

One additional thing I was thinking about...if all I read about Martin Luther were the things people who hated him wrote, then I might think of him the same way as you. But I took the time to read the other side, to read his actual writings instead of snippets his enemies threw up to disparage and condemn him. I am not a Lutheran, BTW.

If we are going to judge someone, we ought to take the time to get our facts straight and not make presumptions based on biases and unwarranted hatred, agreed? I'm glad to see that many Catholic apologists are looking at Luther, and the Reformation, with fresh eyes and realizing that he was a sinner - as we all are - but a man who loved the Lord with all his heart and longed for others to know the truth and be saved.

Then, several hundred years before the Reformation, the Catholic church was dealing with this:

St. Peter Damian's Book of Gomorrah: Homosexual Situation Graver than Damian's Time

The corruption and immorality that has characterized that which calls itself Roman Catholicism has a long and deep history.

I have no doubt that is true. 😁 In fairness, however, I went to a catholic grade school, and high school. In that particular community, I don’t think there was a lot of corruption, or at least it was hidden. I am sure other parishes were far worse. We always suspected the Principal, (a priest) was, you know, “doing” the nuns. It was just a suspicion. We never knew for sure, although one of the priests DID marry the school secretary, in a big scandal. 😖
Since I live in the belly of the beast, I estimate 80% of the people I fellowship with, are ex OTC members. That, is a good thing. 👍

You’re the one who brought up Mary.

I sure did!

Wanna talk about her?

After all; we're 172 replies deep into this thread; surely something other than LUTHER can be mentioned.

You shall obtain all you ask of me by recitation of the Rosary.

Makes one wonder if the Reformation was a house cleaning from God. It wouldn't be the first time He's done that and won't be the last.

The OT has several examples of this happening.

When it takes you thousands upon thousands of words to attempt to explain a two-word statement, you should be canny enough to realize that you’re on the wrong side. Just give up.

How about 4 words??

Call no man father.

You are still recycling that post...

And why not?

Are not you Catholics the one's 'recycling' the topic of this thread?

“Be a sinner and sin boldly”

I, however, have no illusions it will dissuade you from recycling your disingenuous post.

My posting QUOTES from Early Catholic Fathers is LESS 'disingenuous' that go and sin boldly.
