Obviously they have authority over him, but they seem to be afraid of him. Priests in the Chicago Archdiocese are routinely moved from parish to parish after a certain number of years . . . except for Pfleger. Despite disapproving of some of his hijinx and his craving for attention and celebrity, several cardinals have declined to move him away from his all-black parish.
