Yup, Yup and how dare those foolish men actually believe these women love them when they bring them home to America. And they do, they do...............until they have all they want and then..........they don't.

No one is innocent in this game, but over there they are taught to play the game very early on.

If our local Fil-Am community (to which I am quite close) is any example, at least up until the last couple years* or so, a man who got involved with a woman who is a US citizen would be considerably more likely to have her attempt to “trap” him in the manner you suggest, than if he’d gotten involved with a Filipina living in RP.

Granted that most of the Filipinas in our local community were above average income (in RP) when they met their American husband. Most also now have good to quite good jobs here (many work like heck!) and are NOT really dependent on their US husbands to get by, once they’ve been here a few years.

*That caveat because I’ve been so busy with parents’ care the last couple years, I must leave the very recent past out as a data point.
