Over the years, Ive had several Catholic friends and converts ask why I ultimately didnt convert to their denomination. During my first two years of college, I spent a significant amount of time with Catholics, including at the (then?) US Opus Dei headquarters in NYC. I attended these gatherings with a good friend, who eventually decided to convert from Evangelicalism. I came close to converting, but ultimately decided against it. This has surprised some Catholics. I suspect this is because the standard narrative is that Protestants, especially Evangelicals, are crossing the Tiber in great droves.
Statistically, the narrative isnt quite so neat: in recent years, Catholicism has lost millions of adherents, most of these converting to a kind of nonreligious spiritualism/secularism or to Protestantism, while millions more Protestants remain Protestant. For every one person who converts to Catholicism, about six leave the church.
Still, the notion that Catholicism is attracting large numbers of Protestant converts, with no movement in the other direction, can create the impression that there is something irresistible about Catholicism to anyone who studies it. My reasons for remaining Protestant havent changed a great deal, although they have become more refined, especially since seminary. I would like to share some of them here.

Your complete confusion WRT Acts 15 is duly noted AGAIN!
The “certain people” that came to Antioch were Pharisees, who completely demolish Torah in favor of their false laws and Ma’Assim that they arrogantly called “The Law of Moses.”
Their ‘laws’ are the Law of the Adversary.
Chapter 15 is completely about getting the new believers to hear the real books of Moses “every Sabbath Day!”
You still need the sincere milk; you are apparently not ready for the meat.
Paul taught nothing but Torah.
.
.
Dit you mean that I defend the word when you try to demolish it?
I confess!
.
First, I really dont care what books have been written in regards to religious matters unless they were written by the Apostles
And i was not trying to convince you of anything but now that you got in on the subject uninvited i might add here is something you might consider, but before i go into it i will admit that you were right, i do get a little childish some times.
You see i did not get through grade school so i don`t know much about diplomacy nor political correctness , meaning i did not learn how to lie.
Mathew 5:37
Jesus said
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
In other words Jesus said to talk plain, say what you think then keep your mouth shut, don`t beat around the bush and double talk.
Now here is some things any one who claims to be a believer should consider.
John 12:31-33
Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.’ This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
John 14:30
I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
John 16:11
of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
John 8:44-47
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
Ephesians 6:12
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
In John 8:44 to 47 Jesus was talking to the religious leaders, in fact they are the only ones who there was a problem with.
If Satan is the prince of this world as the Bible plainly says then consider what makes up most of the world, religion
has more to do with this world than anything else.
This world has been run by religion for hundreds of years even the united States Government has many laws based on religion.
Consider the legal holidays.
The religious leaders in Jesus`s days were of the devil and i see no reason that it would be any different now.
I understand that there are many God fearing people in the Church`s but over all i believe religion is of Satan, but then most people wrongly equate religion with Godliness.
“The disciples and apostles were mostly common working class men. They had no reason nor opportunity to study languages.
Only Matthew and Paul were educated men.”
2 Tim 3:5, try reading Acts 2:4 those poor apostles didn’t have any human education, so the Holy Scripture must be a lie.
“Now that ms copies of the Hebrew original gospels are available, there is no profit in clinging to the errors and lies of the elite critics of the word.”
Tell me how the gospel message of Christ changes one bit. Oh a word or two, but the message stays the same. All you are doing is being argumentative by splitting hairs and that doesn’t help spread the gospel to a lost world.
“All of the writings of Daniel are in Hebrew; only the 4th chapter which was Nebuchadnezars own testimony, not Daniels work, was in Aramaic, his native language.”
So you are saying that Nebuchadnezzar wrote part of the book of Daniel? If so that makes the Word of God invalid as it says that the Jew was given the Oracles of God and I don’t think ole Neb was Jewish.
“The tribe of Benjamin is a part of the House of Judah, as were the Cohen and scribes that lived among them, so Paul was Judah.
Benjamin was included into the southern kingdom of Judah, but your argument is with Paul himself he says in exact words that he’s a Benjaminite.
Philippians 3:5
Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
“All discussion of Luke is supposition and outright propaganda.”
Considering how botched up and out of context you took the other Scriptures I wouldn’t expect you to have a clear reasoning of Luke either.
“Only Matthew and Paul were educated men.”
I do believe that Luke is known as Dr. Luke per Scripture, Col 4:14!
“Paul taught nothing but Torah.”
Wrong, Paul taught the New Covenant and quoted the Torah.
2 Cor 3:6
6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
The only new thing was the promised sinless human sacrifice was provided.
1John 2:
[1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
[2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
[6] He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
[7] Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
Your misunderstanding of 2Corinthians is easily corrected by reading 1John.
We must walk as Yeshua walked! (totally in Torah)
There is not a word in the entire NT that says otherwise.
If your wish is for something else, your final destination will be somewhere else, not with Yeshua.
Nothing “Jewish” has anything whatsoever with the word of Yehova. “Jewish” = Pharisee, and nothing else.
The believing House of Judah is not “Jewish.”
Your vivid misunderstandings are the pride of the adversary; I wouldn't promote them.
What lost ‘scholars’ (humanists) say about Luke has nothing to do with reality. Their sole purpose in writing was to demolish the Word of Yehova.
You apparently love that garbage, which you should take as a major danger sign.
The “Gospel message” is the “Old Testament.” That is what Yeshua and his apostles preached; there was nothing else.
Paul affirms that fact in his epistle to the Hebrews:< /> blockquote> Hebrews 4:
[1] Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Get it? - What was preached by Moses (torah) is the gospel!
