Looking forward to your report as we pray (and suffer) for you.
And we will remember Syria and Pope Francis too!
I handed out only about 25 leaflets, and go no verbal response from anyone, other than the usual "Oh, OK. Thanks" that people will say upon receiving a holy card or a Splenda packet. I just asked people to read it, and, if impelled by the love of Christ, to sign it and return it.
Oh, wait. One guy DID sign it, but he was a man who had no idea that "the situation" was going on. "I get it that this is doctrine, but what's the problem? Why do you need signatures or whatever?" I gave him a super-abbreviated summary of "the situation", and explained that we can't say that a consummated valid marriage is "dissoluble" in the full sense of the word unless we ditch what was taught to us by Christ in Matthew, Mark and Luke, and repeated in Paul in Corinthians. That would mean treating Jesus' words as just another opinion and not as a revelation of saving truth.
"Oh, OK, I get it," he said. And he signed it.
I made sure the conference speakers got copies, and they impressed me as solid Catholics (from Aquinas College and the Dominican Sisters of Nashville.) So maybe I'll hear back from them.
Well, we plant the seed and God gives the growth.
