I imagine they are trying to destroy the church - not recruit more converts with girl priests. It certainly didn’t work with girl altar boys.
In that women were the first witnesses to the resurrection, I’m sympathetic.
But it’s the Church’s call.
This would lead to a schism without a doubt and would I think be a clear indicator of the end times.
This reflects on the equality with God temptation of Genesis 3:5 imo.
Schonborn is 73. I cannot believe he is espousing such heterodoxy. He did a lot of good work with Michael Waldstein decades ago.
I suppose if one thinks and acts with whatever direction the wind blows, he can end up just about anywhere.

I’m waiting for a government and/or court somewhere in the world to declare not ordaining women priests to be an act of discrimination, and forcing the church to stop the practice. Then I’ll make a huge batch of popcorn!
To finish killing the Church, which the pope has started, all you have to do is “ordain” females to be priests. The vast majority will be lezzies and will turn the Catholic Church into a social justice club.
