The lds church’s new policy is not very effective. It’s meant to derail the current movement to protect children.
Thank GOD they are not repeating what Jesus reportedly said!!
b Matthew 5:27-28
Kinda screws up the "Forever Family" mantra.
It must be HELL; being a Mormon who KNOWS that he/she will NOT be residing on the top level for eternity; while others in his/her family will be!
HEAVEN-The Mormon church teaches there are three levels of heaven (three "degrees of glory"):
SALVATION: A word that Mormons qualify in one of three ways: unconditional or general salvation is simply resurrection from the dead, granted to all through Christ's atonement; conditional or individual salvation involves entering the celestial kingdom through works of Mormonism; full salvation means exaltation to become a God as a result of temple ceremonies and other works. The word 'salvation' can have a two-fold meaning: a) forgiveness of sins and b) universal resurrection:
The Mormons have several different levels of "salvation".
Ah; but the 'standard' can change a wee bit over time.
Compare today's TR questions with these older ones.
I've yet to find; in LDS writings; just WHEN and to WHOM GOD spoke to make these changes:
TR questions: the good ol' days...Temple Recommend Questions: 1857

FWIW, many parents are quite comfortable letting their religious leadership counsel their children on things like sexual morality. My wife grew up in a Catholic/Methodist household and was never comfortable about counseling our daughters about such things until they were well into their teen years.
Dad was their source of information before then. I didn't mind filling the void because I knew all about the alternative sources of such information and most of them were not good.
If you have a trusted religious leader whom you know to be moral and decent, just ask yourself if you want your child to get this kind of information from them, from you (if you are one of the few parents who are willing) or, by default, from a left-wing school, peers or Hollyweird.
Not a tough choice, IMHO.
Well; we Mormons should jess tell our youngens to emulate our beloved Founder; Joseph Smith.
Surely a more moral and sexuality knowledgeable individual could not be found!

Spencer Kimball was a B-1 bomber dropping a full load of 1000 lb guilt bombs.
The intent of checking for worthiness has a veneer of good intent. The practice of checking for worthiness creates a soul-killing culture of lying, evasion, blaming, outward conformity and policing.
Nice reply. Doesnt mean anything to me though.
Or to many Mormons; either.
In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet, for our salvation depends on them.
1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say Thus Saith the Lord, to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by mens reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidencythe highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidencythe living prophet and the First Presidencyfollow them and be blessedreject them and suffer.
I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captainhow close do our lives harmonize with the Lords anointedthe living ProphetPresident of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

Whats your friggan angle. You trying to prove to me that Mormonism is a cult? If so, tell me something I already do not know.
Quite wasting bandwidth here with those posts.
Teenagers aren’t children.
Also, he can repent and then go to the temple.
To anyone who is reading.
If something Mormon pops up that I know is deceptive or false; I'll post things directly from LDS sources.
If an LDS practice is alluded to, but not illustrated; I'll try to show the source.
I figure that knowledge never hurt anyone.
The creep took a scroll and claimed he interpreted it, when it was simply nothing but a prayer scroll for an Egyptian priest. That was the beginning and he lied about just everything after. The man was a lunatic.
You are; of course; correct.
But with chaos all around the world these days; folks are looking for stability in at least something.
The word cult will not turn off many folks if they think they’ve grabbed hold of a life raft.
Look at Glenn Beck. Life a wreck, falling apart, until someone showed him Mormonism.
I’d bet he’d heard about it and it’s errors; being raised Catholic, but the STRUCTURE of the theology (top down control) was familiar. The ACTUAL theology seems to have not made much of a difference to him.
But I’d have to ask him today, “How’s that workin’ out for you now?”
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
