What happens if an unrepentant sinner partakes in the Eucharist?

Because that’s what the Catholic leadership is teaching their congregants. To sin without repentance.

I don't believe those partaking in the Eucharist who are unrepentant (of mortal sin), are necessarily the Catholics who were thriving in their faith to begin with.

And God will take care of the leadership in His own time. But Catholics might pray [often] for same to happen quickly!

And, of course, there still is outstanding leadership within the Church; it would be tough to find, for instance, a weak priest celebrating the Traditional Latin Mass.
