As I recall from my memory, which is not as good as it used to be, Jesus said, Not everyone who casts out demons in My Name knows Me. Lessor dark spirits will fear and tremble merely by hearing the Name of Jesus, but stronger dark spirits can only be removed by prayer and fasting.
This was in response to the disciples asking why they could not remove some spirits.
