Cardinal Joseph Tobin, who famously welcomed an “LGBT pilgrimage” to his cathedral, has deleted and apologized for a tweet saying, “nighty-night, baby. I love you.”

I love my sisters, but I have never, ever called either one of them ‘Baby’ or said ‘I love you!’ in that manner. It reads like a very intimate Valentine kind of note.
