Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

One of my favorite TV shows in the early 60's was "COMBAT!, which was a drama set in Europe in WW2. (I often wondered how Sgt. Saunders could heal from such dire wounds one week to be fit and able to fight the next, but that's TV for you!). One of the episodes that I will NEVER forget was titled "Gideon's Army". At the time, I had no idea who "Gideon" was, but it was an unforgettable episode about how Sgt. Saunders and a few Polish POWs were able to overcome a much larger Nazi force.

Of course, the episode was referring to the "Gideon" of the Bible, and years later, reading the Book of Judges for the first time, I learned of him. He was not a big General, and was kind of an indecisive person of little strength, but God called him a "Mighty Man of Valor". Gideon was not "Mighty" because of who he was, he was mighty because of WHOSE he was...he belonged to God, THE Mighty Warrior.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

The Greatest Of these is Love

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Amen. I’ve just been reading/meditating about Gideon. He was so fearful, faithless and timid until he allowed God to work through him. So many Christians are walking around with the strong anointing of God yet fearful to step out and be Mark 16 believers because they don’t trust His power in them. How we forget that Greater is He Who is in us and that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND.
