No question this a wonderful gesture on the part of Sisi, and would that the Mohammedans would evolve into a sect that truly valued religious tolerance. The problem is Middle East leaders come and go, but the goofy book they worship never changes - Ataturk moved Turkey into the 20th century (no small feat that), but within a couple of generations that country is well on its way to devolving into another Middle Eastern sh*thole.
The photo of the partially-completed cathedral shown in the original article promises an impressive looking edifice, but I have to confess when I look at it, I’m thinking all they have to do if make a few changes to the steeples, and add a couple of matching minarets on the other end, and they’ve got their own Egyptian version of Santa Sophia.

There are five books they worship not just one. And there is no way any mussulman can become moderate in the western sense without becoming an apostate, nor can the cult practices change as that path is specifically forbidden under pain of death by their ‘prophet’.
A moderate mussulman is just one either donating at the mosque to jihadis to kill you or waiting for the right moment to kill you himself.
