Commenting on the widespread sin and wickedness in America today, preacher Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of Billy Graham, said then when the evil is so widespread and people do not repent, then "God backs away" and leaves people to their own corruption. She added that God eventually will rattle America to repentance through some cataclysmic event, such as a "nuclear strike, an earthquake," or an "EMP attack that devastates our electrical grid."

Move on a few years in to the morally corrupt Roaring 20s, then notice the punishing consequence of World War 2 soon follows.

Romans 1 indicates the giving up of this country into homosexuality is itself a form of judgment.
Agreed. People obviously thought in the 60s that by going their own way (symbolized by smoking dope, free love, protesting war, etc.), they would gain a peaceful, absolute freedom. Instead, we have divorce culture, violent leftoids, crime spikes, boneheaded liberal judges, lawless government, etc.
That’s how I see it, too.
That’s right. Speaking out against sexual perversion of all kinds is “hate” speech, possibly worthy of loss of a job, home (no job, no home), rented home (if landlord has the legal right to evict).
Gay pride parades. Celebrities, politicians, and “journalists” praised for “coming out”. And the lives of young people, that are converted to perversion by indoctrination (now legal) or by physical force (still illegal, for now anyway), are damaged horribly.
Fifty years ago, where I grew up, those things were only spoken of quietly, and at best, as filthy behavior.
I don’t know how old you are, but I well remember when that song “Age of Aquarius” by the 5th Dimension.
We were supposed to be entering a period of unprecedented peace and prosperity back then.
Yeah, right.....
So Jesus was lying in Matthew 24?

I remember Age of Aquarius, which was based on astrological hokum. Song sounded lovely, though.
If Europe back in the early 20th century even had half of a Christian culture that America has now it probably won’t of ever had a WWI and WWII. Even though I gag and roll my eyes at what goes on in America under the name of Christian it is still better then what Europe had back then during WWI and II, it is still alot better then what the Christianity Europe had even a hundred years before WWI happen. The reason the United States was started was basically religious freedom from corrupt Christianity and state run Christianity. If and when I see a great punishment dealt out to Europe and third world counties for moral decline etc. then I will be concerned that United States might be next in line. United States isn’t as bad as most people make it out to be.
What does God do about them? Scripture has an answer (Genesis 18):

27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”
“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”
29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”
He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”
30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?”
He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”
31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”
He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”
32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”
He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”
33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.
Legal wholesale abortion, gay marriage, divorce rampant, etc.
A lot different than the late fifties and early sixties, when I was young.
But, yeah, the writing of books, there is no end. If you have famous connections, then there is money to be made. Even if the cause is noble, there have already been hundreds of books written on every Biblical subject.
As a teenager there was a Billy Graham “crusade” in my hometown back around 1970. This was a smaller one, with one of Mr Graham’s associate evangelists. The local churches of nearly every denomination were involved. They all would contribute in various ways. But, one Sunday a month or so before the event, our pastor asked for volunteer prayer assistants. The assistants would be in the seats like everybody. Now, when the evangelist would make the plea to those wanting to “receive the Lord as their personal savior”, to come down; the volunteers would come down also.
After hearing from our own pastor, about how many volunteers the local churches were going to supply, I didn’t give it much thought. The first night of the “crusade”, I (being a borderline rebellious teen) stayed in the bleachers. I saw many volunteers going down at the ending invitation; and knew quite a few of them (some, I thought to myself, “you gotta be kidding me!).
My parents would always watch the Graham “crusades” when they were broadcast. There would be a big crowd in a stadium, and at the end many folks heading down to make their “commitment”.
After our little crusade, where the volunteers probably outnumbered the seekers 3 to one, I suddenly realized that probably well over half of the throngs, making their way down the aisles on tv, were volunteers. Kind of deceptive in a way to the average observer. It certainly made Graham look better at reaching souls than he actually was.
But, the real tragedy is that the seekers reached a Acts 2:37 moment, only to have Acts 2:38 stop at repentance. I was ignorant back then, attending the small rural Presbyterian church with my neighbors. Being born again is a real supernatural experience. To my knowledge, Graham never taught Acts 2:38, and therefore has never taught the rebirth as it is detailed by the Lord and his apostles. And iirc, Billy Graham has softened his stance on homosexuality.
Having a commanding physical presence and voice to go along with it; and also some basic biblical understanding, took him a long way in this life. It’s the scriptures that he ignored that may doom his soul.
These are LAST DAYS. Many willfully ignore the warnings.
