A particularly odious corporate cant to which I object is the use of "decision" as a verb.

"We need to see the numbers on a spreadsheet so that we can decision our priorities."

The word "decide" is already a fine term, even if one is not literally cutting the thing into ten pieces.

The list of bastardized nouns is endless. To "impact" is jarring, for instance, and "impactful" is idiotic.

This kind of nonsense comes from bureaucrats who are at once tyrannical and terrified. Some white male university president, if there is one left, would use "decision" as a verb because to say "I decided" smacks of privilege.

To "decision" something blurs the subject AND the action.

No one really knows who made the call, and whatever was "decisioned" is now locked within impenetrable new walls.
