Thank you. I’ve brought up this hypocrisy before and generally my questions go unanswered or I’m told that “it’s different than divorce” LOL. The Catholic church just wants their “cut” to sanction an “annulment/divorce” and remarriage.
Apparently what they are missing is that it’s the sex, the consummation, that makes them one flesh, not the ceremony.
Annulments were rare prior to Vatican II...a few hundred or so annulments in the entire world. Handing out annulments like candy is a post-Vatican II phenomena.
