I find your question quite strange. What did 'Jesus' command? To demonstrate 'belief' in Him, it is quite a natural ebb and flow to keep His Commandments... The New Testament by design elaborates for the follower of Christ as to how one 'naturally' in these flesh bodies always falls short. However, we are NO longer required under the law to shed blood to seek forgiveness... That is the only law that is no longer in effect. Christ became the One and for all time perfect blood sacrifice... and we since that sacrifice are graced to not be required to offer blood sacrifices... I know I am blessed.
