Please show me exactly where in the Bible that Jesus preached at an altar and required one for "proper worship". And by the way, who determines exactly what "proper worship" is? You?

Regarding salvation...for those who have faith in Christ there is no judgment of the "merits of salvation".

No better way to guarantee the fidelity of the *faithful* than to threaten them with eternal damnation if they don't go along with your program.
