Wall Street Journal, apostrophes are toast because they're not on the front screen, so to speak, of your phone keyboard.
History will record that "apostrophers" and "non-apostrophers" were the new lords and peons.

Modern usage seems to have led to a prolific, incorrect over-usage of the apostrophe though, rather than a diminished usage. Plurals do not require them. That seems easy enough to teach and to remember to me.

They are waiting for apostrophes a get a cool milinial name like when the pound sign (#) became “hashtag”.
