“I believe what I think the word off God says, any thing
Else may be a lie.”
Pascal stuck to that idea when he said the Scriptures only speak of Mary’s virginity up to the birth of Christ. Of course, this was written off as “Jansenist error” by one of the “sides” you alluded to.
My issue has never been with Mary. She clearly understood the idea behind Jesus’ statement:
“So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty’.” (Luke 17:10)
My issue is the New Age gobbledygook surrounding the apparitions, devotions and obsessive focus on her. Very serpent-like logic is used to twist her role into something other than what The Father intended. This COUNTERFEIT Mary might be used by Satan to deceive the world along the way again, as she seems to have a lot more fans than the Lord Jesus Christ.
Billions prefer the folksy, sensual (counterfeit) Mama to the Risen Son who John—John!—saw and “...fell at his feet as though dead”. (Revelation 1:17) Even so, Jesus comforted John with awesome words. HE and he ALONE is the answer to all our needs.
New age gobbledygook.

I agree 100 percent.
I thought the same thing when I read what the apparitions of Mary at Fatima, Lourdes and others supposedly said. Devote your self to "me", pray your rosary to "me", "go to confession", etc.. Very little was directed towards Jesus Christ and so much was suspiciously Roman Catholic-specific that I question their genuineness. It's no wonder Catholics defend them so strongly and accuse non-Catholics of Mary hatred when we reject them.
