That will lead to women as pastors. That’s a whole can of worms.

You are in for a big disappointment. Stick around another 50 or 100 years. Priests will marry and women will be priests.

The discipline on married men in the Latin Church being ordained could change. The discipline could even change to allow priests to marry (though that would be an utter novelty unknown in the history of the Church East or West).

But a woman can never be a priest.

The most she can be is an invalidly-ordained woman pretending to be a priest. No valid priest, no valid confession or Eucharist.

The devil could not be more pleased to hear such an abominable thing, nor could be more pleased that you are willing to spread such errors.

You may not want to ,see the future of the church. Women priests, marry priests inevitable. There is no canonical or logical reason a woman cannot be priest.

As for novelty of married priests I don’t believe this is the first time in church history and they let married priests in all the time. You re hoding on to something that is without reason.

Except, of course, being faithful to the example of Jesus Christ.

BTW, there is a canonical reason because current Canon Law forbids it.

"It's already happened to protestant churches."

It almost always starts with that. It's invariably the first big step to full apostasy. One that happens it's a short time till you get the whole gay clergy, anything goes if you really love and believe it, something "having the appearance of godliness, buy denying its power" all intended to scratch itching ears, as the Apostle Paul put it. This Baptist exhorts you not give an inch on this one, brother and sister Catholics. As Governor pointed out, it's happened in in all the Protestant mainline denominations (or at least the largest part of them.) Once you've given up on that one you given away everything. Happens every time - the Holy Spirit is telling us something. It's a primary doctrine.

I addressed the example of christ and the cultural times. Where was christ’s Japanese priest and I can list a 100 other characteristics.

misogyny and bigotry. Of course if you want to call it that./ LOL. he may have been selecting men because women were not in the social position to travel around with 13 men. You need to get your head out of the 21st century and think.

Spare me the "it's inevitable". One is a bad idea and the other is impossible.

As for novelty of married priests I don’t believe this is the first time in church history and they let married priests in all the time.

Yes, married men being ordained priests was not unheard of. However, those priests were to maintain CONTINENCE. Early on, it became more common for married priests in the West to send their wives to monasteries. In the East, the insistence on continence eventually was relaxed.

Priests were never allowed to marry (when it happened it was an anomaly and still invalid). To allow them to marry would be a novelty.

In either case, large numbers of married priests present an interesting problem in these United States: paying them. If you think they're "inevitable", please start tithing at least 10% RIGHT NOW.

There is no canonical or logical reason a woman cannot be priest.

You can continue asserting it, but it is simply not true. The canonical argument is the simplest: it is forbidden. Can. 1024 A baptized male alone receives sacred ordination validly.

But you might still argue "but that can be changed", so I am posting some resources for you to read. (Spoiler alert: as part of Divine Law, it can't be changed)

Paul VI: Inter Insignores (it is easily found online)

John Paul II: Ordinatio Sacerdotalis

For your "logical" arguments from Scripture and Reason, Peter Kreeft gave a good talk over 20 years ago:

I believe this is the one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgou9QDR4KM

And a transcript of the same.

The attempted ordination of a woman is an abomination and a mockery of the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Yes, married men being ordained priests was not unheard of.

Gee I thought it was novelty and unheard of and now married priests have been let in by two modern pope. So your first post was disingenuous. did you think I would be absent of church history?

I am finished on this topic. You are defending the indefensible and explaining the inexplicable. Even the church’s actions, letting in married priests, prove you to be wrong. There is no reason for God to not want women to be priests. He made them as smart as men and more nurturing and loving, characteristics of Christ. It is a church run by men who sustain their power that keeps women from being ordained for no logical reason. God is both a mystery and logical. look at the universe.

You can wager the way you want. were I to live the next 100 years, I would bet my deed on women priests. Good night.

Be finished. I will entertain for one more post that you are genuinely ignorant instead of willfully ignorant, then I am finished with you as well.

To start, we need to make distinctions:

First Distinction: Already-married men being ordained vs. already-ordained men getting married.

Both of these are matters of discipline. They can change (whether or not changing them is a good idea is another matter).

ALREADY-MARRIED MEN BEING ORDAINED is not a novelty. It existed in the past in the Church in the West and the East. It still exists in the East. Recent Popes have permitted it in the West under very limited conditions.

ORDAINED MEN (BISHOPS/PRIESTS/DEACONS) GETTING MARRIED is a novelty. It was unknown in the ancient Church East or West. Instances where it happened in the Middle Ages were all considered invalid and illicit. In modern times in EXTREMELY RARE circumstances, widower Deacons with young children have been reluctantly permitted to remarry, but never Priests or Bishops.

Second Distinction: Married Male Priests vs. female “priests”

Whether married men can be ordained/ordained men can marry is a matter of DISCIPLINE and can change. Whether women can be ordained is a matter of DIVINE LAW CONCERNING THE CONSTITUTIVE NATURE OF THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY ORDERS and cannot change.

It doesn’t matter if women are as smart as men or more nurturing. The documents/talks I linked (particularly Kreeft’s talk) demolish your arguments and provide the reasons you claim to be lacking. Since they address them better than I can I shall not repeat them.

Except in the NT Peter and the most of the disciples were married. Rome's requirement of the unmarried priest only came about later.
