The Charismatic movement is vulnerable because it also has embraced too many false doctrines, false prophets and is too often emotionally driven, rather than truth driven.
That’s why it is so important to stick with God’s word.
Psa_33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
Joh_17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
As you said it is emotionally driven. It is all about the expierence of going to Church. It also creates two classes of people, those who have the spirit and those who don’t. If you don’t speak in tongues, roll around on the ground, do holy laughter, have a gift of prophecy, or gift of healing you are told you lack faith. So you either feel unworthy or do what most do and fake a gift to get along.
