"You do realize once a mind is closed around an idea, even though false, it is difficult for that person to objectively analyze another idea? 🤔" I had a PhD psychologist who spent his life teaching at a major university get up and leave one of my lectures in the divinity school three times, each time returning only to do it again a few minutes later. Several weeks layer he attended another of my lectures. He told me that he did not believe a word that I was saying, but when I demonstrated it with volunteers from the group, he was on intellectual overload and started shaking. Each time he left to calm down and walked the halls for a few minutes and returned, only to repeat the process again. Sometimes letting go of the old to make room for the new is a painful process. Thus the necessity for tribulation. It is the reason the Quakers and Shakers earned their names!
