On All Hallows' Eve, a perverted monk in Upper Saxony, possessed by the prince of darkness, divided Christendom forever, and deprived billions of souls of Sacramental life.

Bergoglio Vatican celebrates Protestant Revolt with a stamp
So what did he actually write 500 years ago today that’s so offensive/wrong?
Read the 95 tweets yourself, they seem very reasonable: https://twitter.com/ctdonath/status/925220193202208768
Thou Shalt Not Question Dogma...
And it is poisonous screeds like the above elevation of human dogma over divine will that remind me why I can’t belong to the RCC.
I'm glad you've asked:
500 years of the Reformation. What is there to celebrate?
Lamenting Luthers Reformation
Martin Luther nailed (and mailed) his 95 Theses on October 31, 1517. But Philip Melanchthon did not arrive at Wittenberg to become a new professor of Greek until August 20, 1518, at ten o clock in the morning, according to a handwritten comment by Luthers secretary Georg Rörer.
"Luthers 95 theses are not themselves entirely Lutheran, after all. They were close, but he still hadnt rejected the idea that there is a middle stage in the afterlife known as purgatory. He would reject this later, of course. But we cant quite call Luther 'Lutheran' at this time. Instead, this set of 95 Theses sparked the Reformation of the Church, because they challenged the authority of the pope. Specifically, they challenged whether the pope had authority to free Christians from purgatory in the afterlife."Some of the main issues that were developing at this time for Luther began to take shape more rapidly in the years to follow. One of these issues was the teaching of free will. In a set of theses delivered in Heidelberg in 1518, the year after the 95 Theses, Luther attacked the teaching that natural man has a free will to choose God. This is something that is still taught today by the Roman Catholic Church as well as other protestant denominations such as the Evangelical Free. Luther outright rejected this on the basis of 1 Corinthians 2:14 and Romans 9:16. In one of his theses presented at Heidelberg he wrote: 'Free will after the fall into sin exists in name only; and as long as one does what is in him, one sins mortally.'
"This, along with other parts of his 95 Theses, was listed by Pope Leo X in his papal bull condemning Luther as a heretic. This bull was written on June 15, 1520."
And neither Luther nor Melanchton were at the foot of the Cross at Christ's Crucifixion. Such vanity!
It was the prots celebrating Reformation Sunday in a Catholic cathedral that not only was an annoyance, but a heretical act from a Catholic perspective.
Did you bother with my link? I spent >hour last night editing & publishing it, you can at least just take a brief look and give me your thoughts on what little you read there. Seemed quite sensible to me, summarized as: only God forgives, people can’t buy others’ way out of purgatory, and if they could you’d think the Pope would be selling everything to do so.
Nope, not even interested. And I'll be you didn't check my links.
“500 years of the Reformation. What is there to celebrate?”
Upshot: link condemns Reformation breaking Catholic unity.
Rebuttal: what good is “unity” when unified around an evil cause? The 95 Theses were sensible questions about indulgences, culminating with to wit “why then does not the Pope sell all and buy everyone out of Purgatory?”
Do you believe in Purgatory?
“Lamenting Luthers Reformation”
Upshot: Luther was a sinner.
Rebuttal: Yup. As are the rest of us. At least he tried to end the evils of indulgences and idol worship.
“...only God forgives...”
So Jesus was mistaken or lying when he told the apostles, “Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” John 20:23
Then why did he dispense with the Holy Sacrament of Confession with absolution?
Ebb Tide has some issues with posting all of these hateful threads.
That anger is against what Christ taught us
Need to pray for him/her.
Unity with unrepentant heretics is not a possibility.
From another article I found this statement, "The Catholic Cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula hosted the service with the United Protestant Church in Belgium, the countrys largest Protestant denomination."
So the "prots" had permission to use the Catholic cathedral and you support jerks who interrupted their service. The heckler's veto should never be celebrated. Anyone who thinks the heckler is noble is also a jerk. Anyone who portrays the heckler as the victim is an ever worse jerk.
