500 years of Protestant Revolution: CHRIST THE KING is the Anti-Luther
Rorate Caeli ^ | October 29, 2017 | New Catholic

Posted on 10/29/2017 12:05:02 PM PDT by ebb tide

Why did Pope Pius XI, when he established the Feast of the Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ with his encyclical Quas Primas un 1925, not choose for it the last Sunday of the liturgical year (as Paul VI did later for his new mass), but rather the Last Sunday in October?

The short answer is simple: Christ the King is the Anti-Luther. The Lord is not the king of this or that German princedom, changing doctrines according to the whim of the moment. He's the King of the Universe, unchanging and unchangeable. As a counter-feast of the "Reformation Sunday" Protestants celebrate on the last Sunday in October, Pius XI proposed Our Lord, King.

Read above; you Catholics didn’t HAVE a canon until AFTER Luther, specifically at Trent.

That talking point you’re parroting is full of fecal matter.

Let’s just say that Luther forced the Church to clean house called the counter reformation.

No, I won't join you in saying that. It's a lie.

So you’re saying that you’re completely fine with all the practices that the Roman church did before the Reformation?

No and I'm not comfortable with the Catholic Church now celebrating Luther's revolt. Nor am I comfortable with Francis'pandering to homos, adulterers, the U.N., the Chicomms, tree huggers and climate hoaxers either.

Okay, so if you’re not okay with all the practices of the Romanists...

Why are you hating on Dr. Luther? IE: the guy who tried to end the abuses of his time and not only got kicked out but had an execution contract put on his head for his trouble?

Luther didn’t do anything more than what you’re doing with all your constant whining; it’s just that unlike you, he had enough Scripture on his side to make the Romanists pay attention and try to silence him.

You say it’s a lie that Luther ended the practices of selling indulgences, simony, brothels for priests, 14-year-old Popes.

Okay, riddle me this. If it wasn’t Luther’s quote-unquote revolt that made them take stock of themselves, what was it? Hmmm?

Unlike Luther, I have not apostatized from the Catholic Church, nor have I started my own religion nor published my own bible.

It’s ok if you are a slow learner. We will give you time to separate yourself from error and return to the Truth of the Gospel. Admitting the problem is the first step next is actually doing something about it. And Luther didn’t make his own Bible. I believe the Bible was inspired by God not Luther ( and so did Luther)

Here you go again with the, "We". Who exactly do you represent? What's the name of your club?

If y’all “know the truth” why are you all in so many different “churches”?

Unlike Luther, I have not apostatized from the Catholic Church, nor have I started my own religion nor published my own bible.

OK, so to be clear, you are saying the corrupt, immoral organization which was selling indulgences is the Catholic church?

And since you are condemning Luther for "revolting" or "rebelling" against it, that must by default mean you were OK with the likes of Pope Alexander and the Banquet of Chestnuts, and other such examples of immorality and corruption which existed in Luther's day.

After all, that IS what you are identifying as Catholicism. You are owning that state of the Catholic church as true Catholicism and anyone who objects to the evil and immorality is an apostate.

Interesting religion you have there.

I find it hard to believe that that is what you consider Jesus to be all about. And it's through a system that full of debauchery and evil that men are required to go to attain heaven.

Which is the TRUE Catholic church?

The Roman Catholic church or the Orthodox?

If and when you ever get an answer, there are a whole bunch of us who would appreciate a ping to it.

Because certain people have a tendency to ignore inconvenient questions and hope they get forgotten when buried by enough posts.

The point of the rhetorical remark was to illustrate the folly of man made traditions. Be it prayer beads, sign of the cross, dietary restrictions, infant baptism, etc. all cannot be found in scripture and Christ’s words often were in conflict with “sacred” tradition. Think of when Christ spoke about washing before eating. The practice was to make oneself clean in a spiritual sense. Christ showed the folly of doing something physical to rid oneself of something that was spiritual.

All true believers are members of the one true Church. There are believers of all denominations in this Church that will be revealed only when Christ returns to claim His bride. Christ knows His Church and we know Him. It is not any one denomination and will not be revealed to the world until He returns.

Let’s take these one at a time.

“Unlike Luther, I have not apostatized from the Catholic Church,”

Yes you have. You did what Luther did in calling out the abuses. The only difference is that you’re not important enough to excommunicate because no one’s listening to you.

“nor have I started my own religion “

Because the Romanists excommunicated Luther because they loved lies more than truth. Luther wanted to stay Catholic and bring it back to the truth of Christ.

But the Romanists loved money and sex too much.

Sound familiar?

Whatever the case, you ARE starting your own religion by picking and choosing what to believe out of your ‘church magusterium.’ You’re the very definition of a cafeteria Catholic, only taking what you want from what they teach, not the whole.

“nor published my own bible.”

The Caths didn’t publish their own canon of the Bible ‘til after Luther, as I believe I told you before. So your church is even more guilty.

In other words, everything that you accuse Luther of, you and your church are also guilty.

So I repeat, what’s the difference other than the fact that the Pope doesn’t care about what you’re saying?

I’d argue that infant baptism CAN be found in Scripture, but the rest of your post is quite correct.
