When a person calls themselves the Vicar of Christ and use that power to alter the interpretation of the Gospel

Care to cite specific examples? Nobody believed in Luther's doctrine of extrinsic grace before Luther. Seems like he certainly "altered ... the interpretation of the Gospel". Does he get a free pass from you?

I think you're making it clear that you never considered Catholics to be Christians in the first place.

You could think that but it wouldn’t be correct. I think most Catholics are Christian. I don’t believe that the RCC organization is Christian. The universal (small c catholic) church is Jesus and the body of believers, not the last vestiges of a dead empire in Rome and certainly not in a Marxist Pope who was elected by the organization’s Cardinals.

No one? Rome was executing Reformers for a century before Luther. And there was this guy named Paul. Ask your priest about him.
