Using your logic unrepentant rapists, child-molesters, homosexuals, murderers, abortionists, et al, should not be denied the sacraments.

This is not my logic, its God’s. We do not sit in judgement. We should try to persuade people to come to God. But its solely God’s prerogative to decide if someone is worthy.
It has always been the Church's prerogative, and God's, to deny the sacraments to pertinacious sinners.
