Wonder what Jim Morrison’s world view would be right now, if he’d survived. A troubled soul.
A troubled soul indeed.
Morrison grew up a Navy brat as the son of an Admiral, IIRC. A very conservative upbringing who found himself in the middle of the 1960’s hippie movement that conflicted with his worldview and he wasn’t afraid to explore the insanity of what was happening around him. He was also unafraid to point out their stupidity in his lyrics and poetry.
Personally, I believe he attempted to engage their God-less, narcissistic, morally relative fantasies with bitter sarcasm. Sadly, his audience then and our world today continues to “hear” what is being said, rather than taking the time to actually listen and truly understand.
IMHO, Jim Morrison gave up and I can’t really blame him.
