This is a ridiculous statement. It's like saying modern Christians are just as violent as Muslims. The priesthood is full of sexual abuse, gay sex, and cover-ups. They are not a representation of regular Catholics, but it's ridiculous to lie to yourself about the fact that a powerful and deviant secret society exist within the church leadership.

I asked on another thread and you didn’t answer. Are you still a Priest? If so, it could cloud your view on this topic.

I believe that, yes, there are abusers in all religions. The difference is that when a Priest is accused the Church moves him to a different parish and the incident is covered up where, a Protestant minister is openly accused and arrested. That might be why the numbers are skewed.
