He lead a commission that ended up dishing the traditional Church teaching of the Limbo of the Unborn, he's now leading a commission to examine womyn "deacons" and he's a Jesut.
That's three strikes with me.
ebb tide:
Limbo of the unborn was never defined as definitive Doctrine by any Church Council or Papal Statement to define it as definitive doctrine. The concept of Limbo was a theological response by Saint Augustine in the debate against Pelagianism which among other things believed that mankind through prayer and being responsible for his/her own actions could observe the law of God by mere human power.
To that end Saint Augustine stated No. God’s Grace is the cause for re-orienting mans fallen nature through original sin back to God. To that end the Pelagian’s posed the question “well then what happens to unbaptized children” which Saint Augustine affirmed as the normative cause of Grace and thus affirmed why children are baptized.
Saint Augustine in response to the question of “what happens to unbaptized children” posited Limbo of the unborn. Since that theological answer came from Saint Augustine, one of the 4 great Latin Doctors of the Catholic Church, it carried “tremendous” weight on Catholic Theological thought. However, as I stated before, it was never taught definitively as Doctrine, only a plausible (perhaps very plausible given it is from Saint Augustine) theological opinion.
Please check up on what I wrote because this is off the top of my head but I believe the substance of my post, even if off on a few particular’s, is correct.
