This is but another manifestation, albeit a dramatic one, of the coming schism. Should such a Mass ever become reality, it would likely be the precipitating event of such a schism. Part of the Catholic Church is drifting ever more rapidly, towards a union with liberal Protestantism. In this new Church, as in the current Francis pontificate, doctrine will not be held in great esteem. Those who insist on the importance of doctrine will be vilified as "rigid" and then ostracized. We see this happening at the moment in the Catholic Church. The important elements in this new Church will be "dialogue", "accompaniment" and just getting along with each other, despite differences in belief. This Church will be acclaimed and praised by the world and held up as a model of enlightenment and progress.

There will remain a small Catholic remnant composed of who knows how many bishops, which will descended into the catacombs where it will be scorned as obsolete, hateful and antiquated and eventually persecuted.

Haven't we already started down this road? Are not these Catholics already found in the SSPX, Resistance and Sedevacantist circles as a result of Vatican II? Our Lady of LaSalette predicted that the Catholic Church would be in eclipse.

And it is. We are already there. It's just that more and more Catholics are waking up.
