As a baptized RC...we start and end all prayer with the sign of the cross.
To go back to my 1950s training:

“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost “

Spirit replaced Ghost. I still use Ghost.

We pray to God, through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells in us, if we are with Him.

Luke 11
1 He was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”

So the answer is pretty clear, if one takes Jesus as the authority on these things.

Prayer is NOT worship. To pray means to ask. In Old English, people making requests of any other person would say, “I pray thee...” If prayer were equal to worship, then almost every English speaking person prior to about 1800 was an idolater.

Roman Catholics do not pray TO Mary and the Saints. Protestants can say that all they want, and complain about how confused they are - but is simply FAKE DOCTRINE.

People writing on websites should educate themselves. We pray WITH them, as most Christians do WITH the living, because they are living too.

Protestants can discuss that living/dead point with us in good faith theological discussions - but they absolutely cannot correctly assert Catholics are heretics. We pray only to the Triune God.

We should pray to Yahuah (God) as Yahusha (Jesus, his son) taught us. Refer to Matthew 6:9-13 (see below)

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,

10
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

11
Give us today our daily bread.

12
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13
And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’

Luke 11:1-13 Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say:

“Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”

And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.

And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Hebrews 4:14-16 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

.
The words of the Son are clear:
WE pray to the Father, in the name of the son.

The spirit is not to be prayed to; the spirit answers us.

Nothing is “triune.” That is man made foolishness.

I knew this would end up as a Protestant v. Catholic thread.

When I pray, I enter into the presence of God.
A God who is greater than I can possibly understand.
Yet a God who is close to me;
Closer to me than I am to myself.
A God who loves me.
