There is one huge difference though between JPII and Frankie.
At the beginning of JPII's reign, he did speak of disarmament. Ronald Reagan told him that was needed to knock down the Soviets was for them to be outspent militarily. JPII trusted Reagan and spoke no more of disarmament, because by doing so it was only fueling the left. Reagan was right and the Strategic Defense Initiative was like the icing on the cake and was actually the thing that did it. And Soviet Communism fell.
Can you see Frankie listening to Trump in the same way JPII did to Reagan?

I make my decisions on popes based on their theology, not on politics. Both JPII’s and Francis’ religion was Ecumenism, not Catholicism.
Plus also Pope John Paul 2 was from Poland and had seen Russia and the communists up close and personal.
