Christian clergy helped a Muslim mosque open in a Pentecostal church.
"It's open faith; we're brothers," Ali Mohammad, an organizer of the mosque, tells North Carolina's News & Observer.
The Muslims are stripping the church of its Christian roots, including removing any crosses and handing them over to pastors in the area.
When they opened on Saturday, Christian clergy, including Pastor Jim Melnyk of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, participated in the ceremony. Other pastors from Methodist and Baptist congregations were also present.
"I see it as an important statement of community, that we take each other's faiths seriously," Melnyk says. "I want to acknowledge how important it is to build bridges in the community when we're living in a time that is so anxiety ridden and there's so much mistrust going on in the world around us. It's important when we can find common ground and share our community."

I first heard this kind of heresy in 1984, at a 5-day Bible study retreat. The pastor praised Muslims as more devout than Christians, and said we have common goals.
Not for the first time, I was deeply disturbed by the direction of American seminaries.
I also left the Lutheran church (where I was in lay ministry and being groomed for seminary).
I have no trustworthy local church, denom or not (and non-denom is virtually a sect unto itself, with theology I do not endorse).
I think we need to find some catacombs.
Which means, in they eyes of Muslims, he IS a Muslim now, and if he denies it, they can kill him as an apostate.

oh god, a church dreamed up by....maybe a mega-preacher....or just an internet preacher who decided that he knew the best way......why not just rejoin the true church of Christ which He Himself founded ???

That’s not a pastor , that’s a hireling.
That hireling doesn’t know the Lord.
If he did know him he would know God is holy and allah is NOT . The liberal pastors have been turned over for judgement , they are exposed , they can not hide the fact that they are not believers anymore. There is no fruit to inspect , they are not his .
I guess the Great Commission was just the meager suggestion.
