Does the author believe it is possible for the Church officially to recognize a saint in opposition to God’s will?

I vote for Susan Dey.

She did some fairly good works.

It is impossible to know whether God favors or opposes a given canonization.

The Church claims that canonization is an infallible act.

What this means: It is impossible for the Church to canonize someone who is, in fact, in Hell.

What this does NOT mean: It is impossible for the Church to canonize someone when doing so would harm or mislead people.

Paul VI was the most destructive Pope of all time, rivaled only by Bergoglio. He should never have been beatified, and should never be canonized, because doing so would inevitably be perceived as endorsement of his disastrous acts. But as long as he squeaked into Heaven, infallibility cannot prevent his canonization. His canonization could be “true,” and at the same time be harmful.
