God's manual is manuals within manuals, such that there's no end to the learning. The one who has actually mastered the manual *is* the manual - The Word - because he just does it that way, and shows everyone else (by example) how to properly use the manual and learn from it.
The funny thing is, no one defines a master carpenter by his ability to quote chapter and verse from carpentry "Bibles" or manuals... his work *is* the text. The books are an explanation of how to do what he does, but he may have learned from his father or trade school.
His mastery is evident by his works. He is the text.
Your point about people calling for services in a panic is great, because while much ignorance and confusion would be avoided if people read the manual, it highlights a human instinct that says, "it's sooo much easier to learn and understand when somebody personally and graciously walks me through the process, and patiently waits for me to catch on."
So there's that carpenter. Those woodworking books are perfectly true and useful and necessary and important, but when the master comes along to personally teach what's in there, showing by example how it's done...
Well there's just no comparison. An eager student will come to class attentive and prepared, though. It shows a love and respect for the teacher.
Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him.
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
John 10:23-25
23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me..
I put the porch in bold because 1 Chron 28-29 is a whole long list of the patterns David gave his son Solomon for the building of the Temple, the making of the instruments and utensils... starting with the porch. In chapter 29 David, after setting the patterns, showed by example how to "do it right" (with a whole heart). How to bring that blessing and prosperity.
