My understanding is Calvinists believe they’d do to heaven if they are preordained. Catholics believe they go to perfect peace in Limbo where they may eventually go to heaven. Evangelicals believe they go to heaven because they believe in an age of accountability. I’m not certain what Lutheran believe officially though.

I was taught at a young age that according to church doctrine, if you are not baptized the child will go to hell and the parents will be held accountable.

Lutherans believe that children are no different than anyone else. Believers are saved, non-believers are unsaved. We also believe that infants and children can believe, even if they don’t understand (and clearly can’t articulate); and the same way that adults do, by hearing the Word and being adopted in the waters of baptism. Remember, the first believer in Jesus apart from Mary and Joseph was an unborn child.
