Iraqi Patriarch: Trump Executive Order Harms the Middle East’s Christians

The head of the Chaldean Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic church in full communion with the Holy See, said that he opposed US President Donald Trump’s decision to “prioritize refugee claims made by individuals on the basis of religious-based persecution, provided that the religion of the individual is a minority religion in the individual’s country of nationality.”

“Every reception policy that discriminates the persecuted and suffering on religious grounds,” Patriarch Louis Raphael I Sako told the Fides news agency, “ultimately harms the Christians of the East, because among other things provides arguments to all propaganda and prejudice that attack native Christian communities of the Middle East as ‘foreign bodies,’ groups supported and defended by Western powers.”

Translation is a little tortured but I think he's saying that if Christians receive preferential treatment, ISIS will get mad. Like they're not already.

Maybe he should have said,

“The less Sunni’s the US takes, the more that are here that will kill Christians.”

It makes as much sense.

Why do so many Catholic church leaders want to invite their own destruction and that of fellow Christians?

Before Stockholm Syndrome in the 1970’s, there was Baghdad Syndrome in the 680’s.

I thought there were many interviews with Middle Eastern bishops who said that Muslims cannot be trusted. And now they’re complaining that they (Christians) are getting preferential treatment?

The one bad thing would be to take a dwindling Christian population and have even more leave, leaving the remaining few to the slaughter. I think I recall an article about that where the ones that were staying to fight (maybe they were Kurds, not Christians) felt abandoned.

Dear Iraqi patriarch, your flock would be better served if you pointed out that the executive order does not prioritize Christians over other religions. It prioritizes the religiously oppressed. You are spreading propaganda of the Left. This inclines me to inquire, are you Marxist?

Yet I read last night that the Syrian American Christians in Allentown, PA supported President Trump’s decision.

I live near Allentown.
10 years ago, you would never see a muslim in the mall. After Obamas push, you may see 50 or more.

You will see the women in niqabs. All black covers. If you look at them you will see the owner get angry. Wouldn’t surprise me to see the next massacre of infidels come from town. I like to sit next them and stare. It gets them so pissed off.

Ask them “Sister, what parish are you from? I went to _____” . Hilarity will ensue!
