What was God’s plan when He allowed natural disaster X or human-perpetrated atrocity Y?
It’s goes without saying that, if something happened, God allowed it. Why Rev. Graham feels it necessary to restate it, I don’t know. He may to be trying to imply a deeper understanding of God’s intentions as demonstrated by this election result, but it doesn’t work for me.
I am a lapsed Catholic. I question things. This is the one thing about FR that I am not necessarily on board with.
Not an atheist, but not a blindly follower of any particular sect either. Creation of the cosmos was enough. We as individuals are responsible for our own lot in life and our ultimate survival as a race.
The entire election process screams Divine orchestration.
What are the odds, what are the odds, puns upon puns, absurdities upon absurdities.
Like the Purim account... no mention of God in the literal text, but it becomes obvious that He is all over the place directing the seemingly random events.
A man named Trump trumps the Establishment, overriding and superseding politics as usual just because he is who he is: a guy who builds literal towers of substance (not shaky political towers of graft and influence peddling).
And not only that, his name is plastered across these buildings. Really quite the in-your-face beatdown to those whose power structure is all an illusion. Everybody in the land knows Donald Trump. From the towers, from TV.
The Established order is being pummeled from on high. It does not stand a chance.
"In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD"
Purim was about a physical threat; Chanukah spiritual. Unlike the holidays set forth from the Torah of Moses, these specifically pertain to Jews.
This entire narrative (including that UN Resolution of desolation) is a merge of the two, for the whole House of Israel.
The American embassy (US soil) in Jerusalem makes the name of Jerusalem a literal statement of the reality on the ground: the USA in the midst of JerUSAlem.
Just goes to show that God reveals His intentions in overt, comical ways that are way more literal than people might ever suspect.
Puns are the lowest form of humor. They can be quite cringeworthy even. What a fitting place, then, for God to display His majesty and mysterious methods in plain sight. 'Cause... who's going to look there? :)
Timing is everything. Just ask a comedian.
Very nicely put. Saved me the trouble.
