Praying the rosary for a football game ..publicly

I’m curious freeper devout Catholic view

If you read the article, you see he's first praying for both teams, that nobody be hurt, and for all the players' and coaches' salvation.

And then , as the very last request, he prays that Army will prevail.

Why not?

Praying for people’s salvation and an injury-free game is always appropriate.
