I think you need to dig deeper than “ law” to define morality
In ancient times the law could order families to offer their firstborn to the fires of moloch - for the common good of course

Law is simply the secular imposition of morality. It does not DEFINE it; it merely enacts it, codifies it, gives the collective a means of enforcing it. The moral code itself must come from some transcendent source or it is nothing but tyranny.

That's the problem of the Left. They've forsaken any higher moral authority and promoted themselves as the authors and arbiters AND enforcers. But their laws reflect not a morality but only their opinions, their distorted utopian views.

When you're Joe Stalin, you have the power to force those views on your subjects, on pain of death. When you're the American (international) communist Left, you have to resort to more subtle means: lies, propaganda, judicial activism, nullification, protests, even violence. But you can impose your (a)moral code on people via those means.

Look at the homo/wedding cake imbroglio for an example. The Christians hold to a higher, transcendent morality. The queers insist that their home-brewed deviant lifestyle trumps that. And the courts have agreed (judicial activism). The same goes for queer marriage (judicial activism) and abortion (judicial activism).
