The main problem with a young earth is that it requires that God lied about the things that can be discovered from observing the universe He created.This is a non-sequitur. The fact that something (a mountain or canyon, for example) would require that it take ages to forum under the so-called "laws" of physics as we know them in a fully operational universe does not at all imply that they could not have all been created in situ in an instant. A uniformitarian may call that "lying," but the only thing lying is his assumptions.
